getsomedata.com – Outdated & Inaccurate

I’ve never been a fan of buying leads. Much of the training on lenderama is base on creating leads through blogging, working with RE agents and build a referral network. Still, I understand some people have had success with leads, more power to them.

The biggest issue I have with leads is that the data is often wrong. Scott Edward, of Imagine USA (getsomedata.com) continually reinforces my perception by constantly sending my the pictured email. Click it to Zoom. He seems to think that including my information will somehow convince me of what a good list it is.

Here’s the problem. I haven’t worked for Commonwealth United since 2004. Commonwealth United no longer exists, it was folded into National City’s brand. Commonwealth United was a wholesale company, not a retail mortgage company. Finally, I was an Account Exec, not a broker, not even close. The only accurate information they have is my name. Even the email address is outdated. I no longer mention that address publicly. Thus, every mortgage related email I get through that address has a giant, “this is probably garbage” flag waving on it when it gets to my Inbox.

I know that many of you are still going to buy leads, this is one company I would steer clear from.

Good info for people.. Many of these companies are not much more than “spammers.” I have seen them send my name to me from a list that was created over 10 years ago with a former company. I get many “offers” per week for leads/lists etc.. These guys drive me crazy.
