2007 was the year lenderama grew up. I want to thank the contributors and readers who helped make it happen. Look for even more excitement in 2008. As I close out the year, I have just a bit of housekeeping to do.
On the eve of my own blog award ceremony, Bloodhound Blog honored me with one of their own. Actually, it’s a people’s choice award, so… thanks again. I originally intended to be standing on a frozen lake in the rockies watching fireworks this evening, but Jack Frost can be a real jerk. This made up for some of that.
Unless one of the other contributors comes through with half a dozen posts in the next few hours, Diane Cipa will be sitting on top of the totem pole. Congratulations Diane, you posted almost as often as I did, and your posts were always better.
Finally, I joked about my leg infection on Blog Fiesta today. In truth, it was a seminal moment in lenderama’s existence. I work on inertia, and being laid up on a couch completely de-motivated me from blogging. It wasn’t the first time it had happened. But this time, I finally took the proper steps to force lenderama to go on without me. I brought in contributors. I want to personally thank Paul and Chris, who came on strong enough to encourage me to continue to expand. I was completely comfortable leaving you two on the top of the totem pole indefinitely because my blog is better because of you guys. Thank You.
When someone falls, there is another to lift them up. That’s what it’s all about. Or at least that’s what it should be about in my book.
But, sadly, that isn’t what it’s been about in this industry in recent years past; it’s been about greed.
There’s no shame in making money, so long as money wasn’t first on the list. Everyone should check his or her list to see who’s first. Check the order of your list. I know this, if you help people, you’ll make money. I’m not boasting, I’m just stating facts. I’ve signed seven figure tax returns every year since 1997.
There’s no denying where we are in time: the throes of a housing recession. By now, most everyone has come to grips with that. We also know that with circumstances comes opportunity. There’s a real opportunity for those serious about helping others to shine in 2008 and beyond.
The Lenderama family brings a positive vibe back to the mortgage/realestate/title business. I’m thankful to be a part of this group.
Oh yeah, one more thing, one of my New Year’s Resolutions….
…knock Diane off the totem pole!
Happy New Year, Todd, and thank you for allowing me to be part of this fine team.
Paul, you are so right. This new year is the start of healing and rebuilding. Yes, let’s make money – that’s why we’re all here, but doing so with honor in a great profession.
I can’t believe I made the totem top. I was watching the post numbers and thought I was third. YOI! Don’t you love competition?
Here’s to a fine year for all. We can do this.
We all have ups and downs. I can remember a couple years ago wondering if what I was doing with my real estate business was right considering everybody thought I was nuts.
Eventually, I found Jeff Brown and found that he had been doing what I was doing. But he had been doing it 29 years longer. That was like a breath of fresh air.
You never know from where inspiration will come. You just have to keep you nose to the grindstone until it arrives.
Thanks for the kind words.
I would also like to thank you for bringing me on the team. With my goal of providing help for everyone I can while I can, Lenderama provides an avenue I never really thought of before and it has been fun creating a new “style” for Lenderama. I am looking forward to 2008 and what it has in store for all of us.
