This weekend I was reading an article on The Mortgage Cicerone entitled,
“Are You Mining the “Acres of Diamonds” in Your Database?”
Tony discussed connecting with your past clients. It’s an excellent article and great advice. But how to connect with them? What will you talk about?
It’s Monday, picture all of your past clients and the various conversations they’ll be having around the water cooler today. How many of those opinions expressed will be incorrect and misinformed?
There’s your talking points. Today’s water cooler conversations will be around “Those Fed’s and their meddling about, some guy in France, and how the Prez is making Fannie and Freddie save this whole mess.”
You know how twisted and wrong some of these conversations will be. We hear them even from people who should know better (LINK). Now imagine your Clients. Your database of past Clients. Instead of disseminating and regurgitating the same wrong stories, they have an informed insider in the industry, a trusted professional. You.
“Well… my Mortgage Advisor says that…”
So there’s your answer to what to say to them. Connect by phone, by email, or by mail. Just connect.
BTW: If you want to read a great post – try this one: “Simple Acts of Kindness and Caring“. It’s not related but Wow!

Mike – Thank you so much for the mention, it is always appreciated. You should go to BloodhoundBlog and read today’s post by Jeff Brown’s…very similar and compliments yours.
“Simle Acts of Kindness” – That story always chokes me!
