you-are-not-alone

Hello out there. This is Kristen Kelly with Building Champions and this is my first blog posting, so please be nice. I am a business and personal Coach specializing in the mortgage industry. My blog will be all about current challenges in the mortgage industry and how to overcome them. Today’s challenge - prospecting. With the current refinance boom of a few weeks ago, many of my clients are challenged with not having enough prospecting time. I am hearing statements like “I have to stay in the office and get this file out” or “I have enough business to last through March”. Here is my question to you, how can you effectivly prospect during a busy production time. Here is one solution: create a weekly time block that involves 3 hours of prospecting time, 2 hours of file working time and 30 minutes of self development time. That only totals 5.5 hours. You still have 2.5 hours of work time to handle any fires that may come your way. Do this the Friday before the next work week so that you can be prepared to be proactive and not let someone else control your time. Then instead of being on a roller coaster in 2008 you will see your business grow strong and steady. If you would like Building Champions tool to help you identify which activities to do as well as give you sample weekly calendars please feel free to email me at kristen@buildingchampions.com and I will send it over to you. Good luck.

About the Author: Kristen Kelly

Kristen Kelly joined Building Champions as a coach in 2005. Before coming to Building Champions, Kristen worked with one nation’s largest retail mortgage lenders. While there she developed strong relationships with her team and realized that her true calling was to impact people’s lives through coaching. As a full time coach, Kristen is now utilizing that background and experience to help professionals realize their potential to live their lives on purpose. Kristen also worked as a sales manager in Colorado Springs for Banc One Securities. There, her top priority was to develop the sales professionals at seven local branches and help them provide effective investment plans to assist clients in reaching their financial goals. Since 2005, Kristen has coached over 150 clients and recently received an award for helping people find and enjoy true success through coaching. In Colorado, Kristen and her husband Rich are raising his two children, Cameron and Charissa and living very active lives. Together they run an investment company specializing in the purchase and management of industrial real estate. She enjoys traveling, spending time at her lake house in the resort town of Grand Lake and all activities related to being outside and in the mountains. And, of course, she is passionate about Broncos football.

Welcome Kristen! I like the concept of time blocks. Also leaving room for real life to happen is smart. I look forward to more of your posts.

Kristen, good starting point. As with anything, without a plan, success is difficult.
