Ligonier is a pretty small town but it’s a destination town for day trips and a few large special events. As a choice for a hyper-localized blog, I’m happy with it because the exposure will move beyond the geographic limitations of the town itself.
The blog is still in the toddler stage and I’m working today on another camera. So far I’ve used my cell phone just to get it started but I dragged out my husband’s expensive Sony this morning and am figuring out how to work it so I can fairly easily deal with it while walking around town.
People are just getting used to the idea of what I am up to. LOL I believe I will separate the hams from the shy. Folks will either start posing or cross the street.
Once I get this camera set up, I’ll finish the Ligonier Homes blog. I am purposely not putting business service links on Ligonier Living. I do intend to put them on Ligonier Homes. Living is more about what to do and enjoy. Homes will be about finding a place to live and getting situated.
Yesterday I decided to do some free classes on blogging for area residents. I think if I can get businesses and individuals all connected this will improve the entire project and be great for the community. Our local computer shop has a wireless network and they also have computers set up for demonstrations. Folks can bring in their own laptop or use a demo station. It will be a nice opportunity for them to showcase their merchandise and a good venue for the classes. Besides it’s just two doors down from my office.
This entire project is a blast and I have to say thank you to Todd for sharing his Denver blog idea. It’s all a positive vibe and would work for real estate agents, mortgage lenders, or title agents. Just be extremely careful about RESPA considerations. I’m a fiend on compliance and I am comfortable with the way I’ll be setting the entire project up because it’s mine. I have total control and I am not limiting participants. It’s free and as long as the content is Ligonier, it’s in.
Way to go, DIane!
It looks to me like you’re taking Todd’s idea to the next level.
Awesome!
Thanks, Paul!
