I meant to write about this over the weekend, but never made time for it. Luckily, Greg Hartley was more motivated than I. He covers the preferential treatment that the lending industry’s most relevant US Senator received from Countrywide. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

For the record, Dodd says that he didn’t know he got an interest rate reduction. I don’t know which is worse – That the Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee is a crook, or that he’s so naive that he didn’t know he was being bribed…

If he did not know he was getting a break it makes you wonder what he does know as chairman of the finance committee.
